So I was doing a case MOD and decided to change up the look of my CPU cooler......... .....on to the project of the day....took a few hours to set-up, determine the correct voltage limiting resistors needed and plan the placement of the LED's and wires..... V8 fan is going to glow and flash through the cover...It's Alive !!! 5mm blinking red LED's for the cover edge... Resistor.... Completed one set of blinkers...will be Two...behind slits in V8 cover.. shrink wrapped for protection.... Hot glued to fan...... Original LED's moved to the Top...see those tiny little circles.. 3mm LED's for the bottom....also have resistors and shrink wrap.... WTF.....all these wires....which one is which ? Did some custom painting on the V8 cover.. ]OK...here we go............now that all the wiring is complete...I wanted to control the "light" from the LED's....thought they would bounce all over the interior of the case.... I know....... I'll use one of the front drive bay covers.....let's keep it green and recycle.... Mark the 1" diameter of the fan edge....and reshape it.... Made a jig to bend the edges...a little help from a rubber mallet..... Bend ...Don't break !!! Now to make it fit snug and stay in place.... Made a small tab to slide behind front cover...to hold it on... A notch to allow a tight 90 bend... Using the jig again...easier than try'n to bend by hand.... although, with my incredible strength.... Done..... Top mesh cover fits REAL nice.... Added a small piece of red plastic behind the slots on V8 cover...I thought the LED's were a bit bright, not red enough.. Also added some window edging...I think it might "rattle" inside the cooler...maybe...maybe not...we'll see.. Finally...it's done....
