Ali Abbas Posted September 6, 2012 Share Posted September 6, 2012 HI Guys, here is my entry for the Coolermaster Mod competiotion 2012 Scratch Build called THE BLACK WIDOW. (also see RENEGADE,The Public Enemy) With this one i want to show the fascination, the elegance and the awe that surrounds this great wonder of nature. The Black Widow is both spellbinding and awesome while at the same time giving us spine shudders. I will show you how i have tried to capture all the different aspects of it beauty while making this mod something special because of its unique form. Its over a meter high, is ver dominantly present but has almost no body. Curious, then keep watching and THE BLACK WIDOW put its spell on you. more to come.. here is the basic idea as a few sketches.. as usual, i will be working a lot on the fly and things will change and get better as i go along.. Ali Abbas Posted September 21, 2012 Author Share Posted September 21, 2012 hi everyone, it time for an update, here goes, still working on the wooden basics though apart from that i have also started some of the body iron rod web works. this will be as major part of my intended look. after making a template which i would use for both sides to get them equal i did the first welds i soon realised that it was gonna be harder than i thought to get them all bent as i wanted so i first built a primitive but adjustable and very efficient rod bender, all went easier from then on first side is more or less done, will be sanded and smoothed off before being painted and airbrushed one of the hard parts was getting the curving outwards form, i didnt just want it to be straight rods, too easiy and not as much character. all the weld knots still have to be grinded smooth, but they hold well and the template worked super. these will ba at the rear top left and right more to come Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
