Hello everyone,

Presentation:

The µBox is the baby brother of the HyperMod, the scratchbuild I presented last year. It is made in the very same plank of exotic wood and aluminium.

The µBox is a sober closed case designed to enclosed a HTPC/light gaming configuration.

Dimensions:

Length: 400mm

Width: 320mm

Height: 210

Configuration:

-µ-ATX motherboard TBD

-Processor, GPU, memory TBD

-3x HDD 3.5"

-1x SSD 2.5"

-BluRay reader slim

-Watercooling AIO 240mm

Materials:

-Structure in solid Sprague

-Covers and supports in aluminium

First update:

First job was to plane the plank:

Second update:

First routing job in the flank done.

Drawing the pocket:

I cut the base pieces to the right size, which allow me to have the structure with final dimensions: (the motherboard is a dead one used as template ;))

Third update:

The pocket in the left flank is almost done:

I will have to do the pocket in the front face for the integration of the front panel and power button:

The left flank will hold the PSU (in the rear) and the front panel:

And there is still a big piece to remove, plus the pocket in the front face for the BluRay reader.

Fourth update:

The mortiser is back to work :D

Sixth update:

 

The pocket for the DVD reader is finished, the reader can now be mounted in:

I am obviously using an old and dead slim reader that doesn't fear dust 

 

The rear part of the structure is also finished, the PSU now fit in:

Seventh update:

 

I started to modify the front panel for its integration in the mod:

I first modify the fixations:

Then adjusted the wood slot so the panel can fit in:

I also bought two aluminum profiles in "U" shape:
