In the below pictures I picked out some of the designs that I tried just to show you how things can develop. Too empty, somethings missing. Lines to thick and static, doesn´t match the front. More organic but still not there... Nailed it! This was the design I decided to go with. The design process is a work of its own and when you start with a feeling and work with a partly random pattern, the only solution is to try. Then learn something and try again, adjust in the right direction. Take a break, look at it from a distance, turn it upside down, invert the colors, do anything to get "outside the box". Then you tweak some more and finally it´s just there in front of and you know that your initial feeling is answered. Designplates cut, but, wait a second... A quick job from the water cutting machine with no clean up. I spent some hours with the dremel to fix this. Back on track, here we also have the Polycarbonate in place with freshly drilled holes and radii added. Gues what? Painting time! It´s officially 1337. This was the hardest part as 1,5mm steel is rather hard to cut. I used a handy hydraulic jigsaw but it had a hard time working through the plate. I then spent some hours with a rotating grinder, rasps, a dremel and a countersink tool to get it finished. After finishing everything up all parts are now ready for assembly. It has been a long road finishing this build but in the end I´m very happy with the outcome. I have learned new techniques along the way and spent weeks and weeks on research and designing but it has all been worth it because you can never get enough knowledge and experience. There are some people i would especially like to thank that have helped me with various cutting, powdercoating, sticker fabrication and expertice, you know who you are and you are awesome=)! Off course i also would like to thank all of you readers (especially @ Sweclockers where the main buildlog is) who has given me so much positive energy to keep on going and never settle for less.
