My name is Gerben Werkhoven, I am from the Netherlands and I'm 17 years old. Case modding really started in spring of 2013 for me. But I quit 5 months after. Back in december 2014, I came back to the modding scene, I still had this CM690II project, which I scrapped all the plans of, and now I'm onto a fresh start with it. New side, front and top panels, and let's get the modding going! What I aim for: I really just want a clean and sleek looking case, with a color scheme that fits my room. I don't have a lot of money for hardware and I will most likely be using my old hardware again. As you guys know, bare metal rusts, and you'd be surprised how fast rust grows.Every time I touched the bare metal panels, 5 minutes later there would be rust where my fingerprints were.After a bit of challenge hanging these panels on the garage door it finally happened Priming panels by GerbenWerkhoven, on FlickrFirst coat of primer, mainly against the rust. Still had some polyester filling putty left from 2 years ago,and I decided it was time! Time to use that awful stuff again, it worked out pretty well although this putty is really rough.A bit of help from the polyester filler was a good choice Fixed up dent in the front panel by GerbenWerkhoven, on FlickrAfter it dried i sanded it down flat.
