Sphinx818 Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Hi all! This is a mod which is special to me as it represents the sheer awe of war, both the good and bad, this is a theme that I have tried to implement within my mod. Enjoy! This is how I got the ammo box (Yes this is a real wooden ammo box from the 1980's!) With this mod, I wanted it to be portable for all of the great LAN events, or to have epic gaming nights at home: I then made a template for the motherboard, and proceeded to mount the board onto the plate: One can see that there is a very fine gap between the board and the side panel: I mounted the buttons which I will use as the power and reset switches, and yes... They will glow yellow... More content soon to come...
Sphinx818 Posted January 13, 2015 Author Posted January 13, 2015 An overview of how the motherboard looks inside of Calibre: On the back of the motherboard plate, I have cut a hole into the casing and then inserted mesh, which will act as an exhaust:
Sphinx818 Posted January 17, 2015 Author Posted January 17, 2015 This is going to be a name tag for Calibre, it will be backlit and fade through different colors
Ed Jones Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 I dig this. I love old military stuff. You plan on fan or water cooling?
Sphinx818 Posted January 27, 2015 Author Posted January 27, 2015 I dig this. I love old military stuff. You plan on fan or water cooling? Thanks! I plan on using air cooling, keeping it to that robust feel
Sphinx818 Posted January 27, 2015 Author Posted January 27, 2015 Side fans are now mounted: Another angle of the intake fans: Power supply, Cooler Master 650W, has been modded to have a yellow fan to match with the theme: A 20mm bullet from a machine gun on a helicopter, just the shell of course, but will be inserted inside of the chassis to add effect: Take a look at the clearance within the chassis of the hard drive, relative to the power supply and case fans:

I found the ammo box in South Africa, where I am based, and I got it from a Food Lovers market, where they have many various types of foods for sale and I knew that this needs to be a computer when I saw it
Sphinx818 Posted January 27, 2015 Author Posted January 27, 2015 I took the Cooler Master logo off of another cooler master chassis, then added it onto the power supply: The Gigabyte GTX460 Superclocked Edition 1GB DDR5 Prepping the side panel for the USB ports: This is the bottom piece of the front panel of a Cooler Master chassis, using it for the USB panel:

That's awesome! I have been seeing A LOT of military themed case mods, but this one got my attention. I have a suggestion. Use dead land mines for the feet! XD Looking forward for the finished build! And by the way, I just noticed, we have a common don't we?
