DarthBeavis1
Amazing like always. Not only do you make a work of art - you also tell a story.

Ali Abbas
thanks guys, i appreciate your remarks.so it about time i made an update here. it was time to make the mechanics for the draw bridge type of camera lifter. the helmet should be rasied to reveal the camera, while being electrically driven but visible as viking technology.bye the way, i know vikings didnt have helmets and horns etc.. but this is also about the myths.have had that discussion so often. it was then time to make the top of the case which will be the hull and deck of a longbaot replicated to fit the case, front open and dragon tailed at the back. Ali Abbas
i modified a left and right pole changing switch for opeing and closing the side doors. i made this little box which conceals the servo controler and even has a switch for automatic mode. the wheel is for controling the camera revealer up and down speed. Ali Abbas
i was always pondering on how to integrate the power and hdd leds. here is what i came up with. i sawed of the bottoms of the mex perfum bottles which look like old glass and used them as the middle aged looking windows which hold the leds after wards. just like old church windows, made in a form and not very clear. the switch, further modifications should change it so you cannot really tell its a switch. with the V for vikings. some extra setting for the sake of viking style and more body. in films we always see the viking shields at the side in the boats, that was only the case usually when they paddled up rivers. on high see they probably brought them in to safeguard them not going overboard before they reached the enemies. while paddling or sailing up rivers they had them at the whale to protect themselves from for example the british archers and spears etc.. these will be all over the case. Ali Abbas
i started making the aft towards stern which will be something like aviking cross section to be able to see the pulley n winch door opeing mechanics below deck. and as one can see, this whole deck and camera lifter can be taken off in one piece to get to the inner elec and mechanics. then it was pretty much done on the outside and i started the inner architecture after taking the outer parts off. Ali Abbas
now it was time for some inner architecture so that everything could find its place. i slaughtered some speakers and salvaged the control for the back and the pair of speakers will find a place in the side doors. the COOLERMASTER PSU will be housed in what i call ODINS TEMPLE. :-) before the question arises, no, the psu and all the hardware for that matter is easily exchangeable. all these parts can be taken out afterward. the top plate and side fence is for instance one piece and the other modules are screwed in seperately too. all removable for maintenance purposes. Ali Abbas
i decided to make a sail to cover the processor and most of the mainboard. it is made of wood cut an carved to be covered by cloth to give it that fabricy look. of course i will make the folds and stitch ares so it looks more realistic, instead of just hanging a piece of cloth which would get caught in the processor fan anyway. Ali Abbas
the vikings always went fully equipped with not only weapons but also tools and crafting engineers of the time to be able to adapt and build whatever they ma need on the vayage and trip to plunder and pillage. according to this philosophy, i am including a lot of extras in this case. in this update you will see some more inner structuring as well as a the monitor which will be motorised and can be swung in or out of the case at will via a servo. odins temple is made, that was a lot of fidjety work. the kingston 128gbyte hyperbeast SSD will be underneath this mesh. i am using this hdd motor as a the resting axle for the swing out monitor. this is the swing out arm upon which the sail will be placed
