JBiasi Posted October 20, 2020 Author Posted October 20, 2020 Water Cooling and Cable Mods have arrived! This is my first ever custom loop, so I'm really excited about this!
JBiasi Posted November 16, 2020 Author Posted November 16, 2020 Sorry it's been so long since our last update We've had a couple hurdles thrown our way! Firstly we were having a problem finding a water-block for our ASUS ROG STRIX 2060. In a stroke of luck we were able to snag a NEW Gigabyte Eagle 3080 OC, but that too won't have a water-block available until Alphacool releases it in a couple weeks. So we decided 2 weeks ago to continue our build using a Power Color Liquid Devil 5700XT. Once the card arrived we really wanted to show case it's beauty and decided to Vertical Mount the GPU. Of course that was right before the CoolerMaster V2 mount came back to US Stores so we had to mod the back of out case to make it work. Our first CPU Water-Block Installed: Coming together nicely! Here our loop is set and filled running for leak test. After 24 hours and no leaks we decided to fire her up... To an error... No GPU detected... We were able to move the riser cable and test with a different GPU which booted fine... Thinking our GPU was DOA we drained our first loop too: We then tested our Liquid Devil in another computer and it booted up fine... Welll being new at this we learned our Riser cable had to be set to PCIE 3.0.... So once again we filled our loop, attached a different GPU to our riser, set our PCIE settings, then ran the loop for it's second leak test. After another 24 hours: SUCCESS - With out her side panel With her side panel And because she looks SOOO pretty at night: Now we do plan to finish up her wings soon... But after seeing all these amazing mods, we are thinking of going back to the drawing board and enhancing our build... Now that we are comfortable draining and filling the loop we are comfortable with some new challenges
JBiasi Posted January 16, 2021 Author Posted January 16, 2021 First I want to apologize for not updating sooner. Shortly after my last update, one of my daughters became ill. After a lot of testing, we found out she has a rare kidney disorder that causes her to get rather large stones. She has had one surgery and another one scheduled. In the middle of that and the holidays our family came down with COVID. For two weeks I was too ill to work on the project and even now have to take breaks. I am so thankful for the extension as we wouldn't have been able to finish the build without it. Without further delay; We call thee home; Lilith.
