Longhorn1000
Today, I'm about to go on an all out mission for 2 days. As usual, here are the parts First, I'll be dealing with the back part here's the piece from last monday Stick it here And I'll be using the permanent glue by Dunlop Sanding the acrylic for better grip done rinse it to remove excess dust wipe it here goes nothing
Longhorn1000
done.... I'll let it dry up first while I glue the wood side Here we go, nicely done few minutes later, both of them are now half dried let's hope they stick and let gravity do the following work hey hey hey, there's a new player, aluminum my trusty tool box let's mark 26 cm on the aluminum piece, a little bit more higher than the original height of the case draw the line lets cut it done lets mold the aluminum piece as same as the front panel. it fits, but need something in the middle to support it I know, those leftover acrylic will do the job I'll mark the aluminum same as the emerged block done, draw the line lets start cuttin btw, here's the acrylic I stick just now fits nicely and doesn't come off
Longhorn1000
so, some time, since I updated, so lets continue so here's a piece of zinc which I marked on it now, since the height of the thing is approx 21cm, I'll be doing 26cm Picked a spot to put down the spade drew 2 lines cut it out I randomly picked a spot to bend the zinc bendy bendy now for the harder part, bending a small piece.... with the help of a pair of pliers there we go, nice and clean stick the small bent piece into one of the holes on the thing and it fits like a charm still, there seems to be 2 holes on both side of the piece, now what? Just cut a piece as same as the side. But how? One cheap trick, spray paint the side on a piece of zinc and cut it a few minutes passed and the paint has dried up in the sun, ready to cut. same technique with the other side and after fitting with the main piece, there is still leftovers which means I can stick it to the main piece very easily drew a v shape and cut it out bend the cut section fits perfectly now draw lines for cutting out excess sides
Longhorn1000
walaa still some excess sides on the top mark it and cut it they went for a rinse and now sunbathing
Longhorn1000
everything dried up stick the main piece back and hot glue it nice so I sticked the 2 pieces on the main piece with the same technique used in the one before with the Dunlop glue and I couldn't show it to you guys/gals as I only have a pair of hands. Sorry after since its a bit shaky, I use those leftover bezels and bend it to fit the hole inside cut it in half and bend it to fit so here's the unstable looking housing again , with the same technique let them dry for a while and fit them in there some time later...... so here's the cutting( abandoned) i did for the first time and it didn't worked out really well anyways, i'll cut it and see what happens....... well, ain't as bad as I thought... Longhorn1000
hmm......bruises sandpaper to the rescue then well, I'm gonna try sticking on the panel sanded the side panel to stick it same technique.... some time later.... MOAR weight !! nice and stable add a little scratch/scuffed texture on the side and the middle part of the acrylic there you go, a nice looking side panel with windows ROLF ok, its time for me to take a rest, since I've been doing this since the morning till evening. C ya, and stay tuned tomorrow for more Comment
