  3. To clean the welds, I used a milling cutter and a Dremel tool with 1-inch grinding nozzles - it turned out very neatly and the seams can only be seen at a certain angle.

Speaking of the tool: one of my favorites is the Makita RT0700CX2 milling cutter - if I had returned at the time of buying this milling cutter, retaining all my knowledge, I would have bought it again)

  4. But let's continue... The prototype played a role – in the subsequent drawings were redesigned for the convenience of welding parts. 2mm aluminum is quite thin and very heat-intensive, in some places it was necessary to attach an additional radiator so that the edges of the parts would not burn through during welding. I bent the blanks myself. A relative helped me with welding and, although it was the first experience of such work for him, he had already filled his hand for welding the final case)

  5. Back to the case build!

The material is familiar to me aluminum 2 mm thick, light weight, ease of processing on the one hand and the complexity of welding on the other. The prototype was manufactured fairly quickly, although the cost of laser cutting the prototype was quite high. After completion, I sent the new drawings for cutting, where they rolled out the bill beyond the reasonable. I never received the requested cost calculation and had to look for another company for laser cutting. There is no silver lining - new parts were cut to me with higher quality, which practically did not need further processing, and even for a price almost 3 times less!! So people lose customers because of their greed…

  6. Every time I sit down for a new project, I think I will be able to play a bunch of interesting games, but in recent years, the only game that really dragged me and I passed it is Horizon Zero Dawn. Every year the number of games that you want to play is growing, but there is still no time for them – there are too many things to do).
We discussed it with my friend - he has the same problem - starts the game, then after a long time returns to it when there is free time... And even if you start again, you don't remember the plot and gameplay anymore))

  7. The most expensive component in the assembly is the INNO3D GeForce RTX 3080 iChill X3 (LHR) graphics card. I could only dream of such a thing!

A video card that can pull on ultra graphics settings all the best games at the moment! Moreover, there is a factory modification of the INNO3D GTX 3080 iChill FROSTBITE graphics card with a block from Alphacool, which is on sale separately.

Photoset of the original cooling of the video card, which we will later replace with a water block. 🤩

  8. So, accessories:

For a small assembly, you need an SFX PSU! 😀
The Cooler Master V850 SFX Gold 850W power supply is a miniature high-power power supply with a GOLD certificate and modular cables.

  9. While the drawings were being drawn, the prices of components, in particular for video cards, flew into the sky! Fortunately, the guys from Cooler Master, INNO3D and Transcend were able to provide the bulk of such expensive components. Thanks a lot to them for that! Without kind people, my projects would not have come to life, but would have remained on paper and only in my head! 😘

  10. Good day to all! I am glad to participate in the CMWS contest once again. 😀

The previous project Simple Case became my main working computer. The air cooling there is thought out and the temperatures are quite low, the only source of noise there was a video card with turbine-type cooling. Experiments with liquid cooling of the graphics card and processor have yielded sufficiently low temperatures and a very low noise level.

The requirements that I set myself: 🤔

    1. Tower-type housing with liquid cooling in order to get rid of noise and free up the desktop as much as possible. So, the housing must have the minimum possible dimensions. At the same time, the minimum size of the radiator for sufficient cooling of the assembly is 360 mm.

    2. The design had to be quite strict, without excessive details, all connections had to be hidden from the eyes - therefore, the assembly on the rivets was immediately dismissed and it was decided to make a welded body.

    3. All wires should come out from the back at the bottom of the housing. A tray for peripheral equipment wires should be provided.
    4. Additional air cooling of the power supply, motherboard and video card. Warm air should not linger in the housing and leave it freely.

    5. Installation of a coolant tank on the front panel for aesthetic beauty. Power button and USB 3.0 ports on the front panel for convenient operation.

    6. Demonstration of the motherboard on one side and the graphics card on the other. Demonstration of additional SATA SSD drives.

    7.  The use of rigid tubes for aesthetic appearance and pre-designed holes for them.

    8. Installation of a temperature sensor for visual control of the temperature by your own.

    S18_3911_resize.thumb.jpg.e4065d5cc37153f7c0a0109505153a89.jpg

The prototype was developed without components on hand, according to drawings and photos from the Internet. In the front part of the case there is an EK EK-Quantum Volume FIT 360 D-RGB tank (350 ml, 360 mm), on the back wall there is a radiator combined with a pump - Barrow DARIDP-30. Fans that blow through the radiator should also take warm air from the power supply, motherboard and video card. There is a place for a 120mm fan from below, the air flow from which is directed to the video card in order to cool its backup and supply cold air to the power supply.
