Ali Abbas
RENEGADE, The public Enemy am gonna need a weapons licence for this one when its finished, otherwise, its just not finished,,,, RGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I would like to introduced you to my Coolermaster 2012 Mod Competition Casemod Categorie Entry. RENEGADE, The Public Enemy This one is depicting a Rebel Fortress, Armoured Vehicle and totally self sufficient PC all in one. Self sufficient because it needs only one single power cord, all the imaginable hardware will be be hosted in the case, not just the PC. Monitor, Subwoofer, XY controlled camera and laser gun, Keyboard. Mouse CB-Radio, Network Switch, Ignition Key, and much much more. Here is the deal. Stardate 2030 AD, The world has been torn by yet another two world wars. Humanity is slaved by warlords and Corrupt systems which are slowly but surely extinguishing any hope of better times. One man, initially trained to keep these systems up and running turns against all he once believed in and uses all his skills and training now to help the needy, the poor and those who cannot help themselves. He builds himself a lone Fortress, a hideout, a stronghold in which he lives in self sufficiency and plans his actions accordingly while arming himself to the teeth. He soon realizes that the media, which is also part of the system has declared him an outlaw, an illegal a criminal. He is hunted by those he once hunted with, from the system he once supported. He knows too much and must be annihilated before he can use his knowledge and abilites to harm those who harm others. and bla bla bla etc etc etc.. Good story eh..... He becomes the RENEGADE, the Public enemy and thats what I want to show in this case. Why the year 2030 AD, well simply because when set in the future, i can really ravel through my imagination for this one. The Renegade will have futuristic elements as well as nostalgics too. Just like we do in the modern day, where we like mixing the new and modern with older styles these are just example pics so you get a rough idea of what direction this one will be going, will of course be better than the pics. it will be based on a ms-tech case which will unfortunately not be visible afterwards, but it will be holding the whole build together. if ther is one thing i can guarantee in this build, its that believe me when i say, you will not see how this is gonna turn out until way into the build. i need a bigger skeleton which must be built first for the actual good looker pats to be be mounted on. only one side will have 90 degrees, i wonder why i am doing that, wait and see. the base will be a very essential part of this build as you will see in later posts. more to come

Ali Abbas
as you can see, even though it upside down, i will be able to tilt the pc later on to get to the keyboard drawer etc.. well thats just about the base i need to build the whole fortress on. slide in as you can see, this way i can access the hardware if required later on too. started the front right blends cut them all the same as L shapes, they will be slanted smaller later on from top to bottom. these chucks are to seperate the blends from each other all in the same width first i had to stick the chucks in with spacers where the blends will be. the top cd drive case i am not sure whether i will actually ust this beware sign as the top blender, will see NOW I START THE STAR DOOR WORK, this door will open vi knob back and forth electrically more to come.... Ali Abbas
hi guys, here is some more of the worklog and further progress more to come
Ali Abbas
hi everyone here is the rest and the final pics. backside door hing i manage to salvage some old parts from a broken HP deskjet. motors, cogs etc. thew will, if all works out drive the star door. must make couplers and screw rods etc.. in the end i eventually used the motor and cogs for the turret gun on the top whuch holds the camera laserpointer and torch plan B for the star door, the printer motor was too weak, so like i said it will reincarnate somwhere else. here i will use a cog tranmission motor which has more drive. the cog made of acrylic and the linear drive of birch wood. worked geat and here are the first two test videos, one of the pully system manually and the other of it motorised but not finally wirde yet. works. As i may have mentioned the renegade has only one wire, eevrything else is held within, the keyboard too. went on to the keyboard locker which is underneath. i recycled some springs from an old lamp stander for the snap in mecha. the mechanic is simple, ugly but efficient, it will be hidden so the optic is irrelevant, its made of wood, springs and plexiglass so the bottom trough is ready, more or less. it looks just like one of the many screws but its really a snap out switch for the keyboard and hee is the first video of how it snaps into place, not exactly perfect, but it will be. plating, will be a very dominant element in the whole build finally. the case needs its name so here goes http://we-mod-it.com/index.php?page=Attachment&attachmentID=1851&h=a01ad3bba52618fbc0fe37da85b7b48b615dffd9 the front fans will be looking like the gun sights of old first world war planes. and here are the works i also decided to change the top style started the main switch panel housing nmore plating for the top the top plating when finished will look a bit like the delorean from back to the future. not after ppainting though the angling was abitchy work though also worked on the front tempo guages in the fan box too again, they will be anaologue from my local heater manufactureer. work great upto 100 degs. for the hdd and cpu, matches the whole overall style. the top mounted dvd drive the star door vents for the side weapons and leds its time to bring in other materials like the pipes to give it a more organic industrial look. WOW ITS ONE 115 CM WHEN OPENED::::::::::::::: EEEHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAA weaponry back pane the monitor plating page=Attachment&attachmentID=2186&h=27b4ead362b2c0c25a77b48acecfef263d51985d[/img] mor of the fan grills made of onion bulb baskets, recycled and now we need the pin sights for the crossfireing grills made of golf tees and birch wood which is a little harder and now for one of the main attractions which will define the renegade, MR. RENEGADE HIMSELF i want that when the monitor is opened you are welcomed by the cigar smmoking renegade skull, which i will modify, its from an auqarium but doenst have that mean look yet, will work it and hit out a tooth and place a smoking cigar made of a model train spout which will smoke when current is given with 3 volts i wanted it to look real mean so i used sawdust and furniture touch up wax to work the brows down. [/img] now its time to convert those recycled printer parts into gun turntable turret mechas. these leds were a usb swan lamp for 3 euros, modifeid and utilised. another new element made of earthing wires bent and cut, when painted in rust look they will enrichen the whole build and now also the leds for star door open, monitor opn, dvd blinker hdd blinker power etc.. modified in alu-tubing to look a bit like bullets when painted later. as the RENEGADE is a one wire wonder i took a wireless mouse, and modified it with a telefon wire and microphone and switch to set of the mic. later on it will blend in to looking like a CB-radio when the door opener knobs are mounted., will still be a mouse though usb ports and other work decided to change the led holder to sticking the bullet leds in between the front armor plates, looks better back side work again, integrating the power on-off and 4portnic switch because this baby doenst go to lan parties it host the whole internet, ehhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa such a small detail but look what i did withn th lid of a second glue tube, the tel wire fitting suuuuperrrr this funnel will smoke too when finished and have a 40mm fan behind it to blow the smoke out, its should depict the power source for the whole rebel hideout look, or should i say FLUX COMPENSATOR now for another character giving element, according to the concept, the RENEGADE is a fighter, but ex militant. of course he needs his shield of arms, so here it is. thanks to the last halloween i had this little plastic skull the rest and swortds etc, are selfmade. joystick for the gun mount another important for me and the RENEGADEs exhibitions will be this hidden back panel where i can open close the star door, work the camera movement in automode, or manual, eject the cd and check the digital temp guage for cpu and hdd, will all be hidden behind an armor plate so as not to be visible when closed. FINALLY, ITS TIME TO BREAKDOWN AND GET SOME COLOR ON THIS MONSTER while the primer cries i did some of the cumbersome wire works i also decided that when the star door is opened all you can see is the cpu fan so here is the cover up build more of the paintwork i took a coolermaster cpu cooler but an enermax fan because of the leds, it matched better, thanks to both of them i used sticky aluminium tape to reflect the leds round the skul better FINAL SUMMARY, It took me over 1500 hours in 6 months to build, has at least 1000 selfmade parts, hold a monitor, switch, subwoofer, complete pc, keyboard, mose, cb radio, cameragun with a red dot laser poiter and torch, has an automatic star door with sound and much moch more, it has a final weight of justifed 58 kilos, considering its not just a poc. is 94 cms high, when opened 115 in depth and over 84 cms wide. this one has been my most complex mod on a mod in a mod ina mod and even though i had a small cable smoldering session before leaving for the gamescom, once i got there set it up and fired it up, it ran like no other mod i have ever made. it worked in every aspect and after this sheer odysey in modding THE RENEGADE-PUBLIC ENEMY WON 2 X GOLD AT THE GERMAN CASEMOD CHAMPIONSHIP 2012, one for the best casemod and one for the sub categorie cases on the move for best elektromechanical ideas. i loved building it and i hoipe you like it, here are the final pictures. and videos http://www.computer-designer.com/index_ ... es/553.png http://www.computer-designer.com/renegade.htm here you can see a short film with my 24 hour modding collleague and both our casemods here you can see the others too, the RENEGADE is at the 39th second onwards
