Asus is providing hardware goodies for the project and I get to build with a ROG Strix RTX 2060 Super. This will be water cooled with a Bitspower acrylic block!

Motherboard is the Strix Z390-I Gaming paired with an Intel Core i7 8700k.

The CPU will ofc also be water cooled using the Bitspower Summit Oled water block. I decided to change the mounting plate to a golden one to fit the theme perfect.

Model is pretty much finished! 2 weeks before deadline haha..

Now I can use it to break out parts for fabrication. There's some parts not 100% accurate to how I will build it but because of the time frame I will improvise for them.

So for a bit of explanation.

The center tube core will from front to back be build with a floating reservoar and a D5 pump beneath the motherboard. Followed by top mounted graphics card and ATX PSU. At the back there's a second floating reservoar as buffert between the radiator wings.

The cooling capacity will be incredible with quadruple 240 mm radiators with full access to ambient air and without any restrictions what so ever from a case.

I will build the wings as foldable solar panels which will act somewhat similar to wings on any space equippment.

So excited to finsish this and fire it up!

Graphics card installed!

This will be one of two sections for the project. The mounting of the motherboard tray gives this 4 disc section to be mounted as on part. Last 3 discs for the front will be another section and later attached to this.

20210110_163252.thumb.jpg.fc56225989d282a95fcb918fad47093e.jpg

I changed the third disc design to be a split one and also cut the supports for the wings.

This is the top of the third disc with the pass through and a mounting bracket with an extra 12 mm hole to support the sneaky pipe from the graphics card.

Getting there!

Mother board tray supported with 2 of 3 discs.

The first front disc is also a split one and here I use the D5 pump top as the locking mechanism for it. It will be stable enough so the pass through is the only thing needed at the top.

For cables I will go for slim and quite anonymous black sleeved cables done to the right length and managed smooth to stay out of the way.

The cables is not a design element for the project and I want them to blend in perfect and not stand out.

This requires the same amount of work haha.. :D

Getting there! Super excited to get it all together as this will be something completely different from what I've designed and built before!

This will be the front reservoar to feed the pump. Filter on the incoming line and high up in the loop for easy cleaning without draining the entire loop. And damn it looks good.

Back buffert reservoar is more of a spider. All three ball valves will be shut during operation.

But then filling the top one can be open for easier filling of the loop through the top mounted fill port / air valve.

Bottom two ball valves can be opened for drainage and will the drain the water through the two side "structure" pipes with plugs at the front.

When operational water will just pass through this res from tube fitting to tube fitting.

Panels for the radiator assemblies are mounted to the sides. There's just need for one panel on each side as I've designed the hinges between the radiators to self support the outer radiator.

Looking so cool 😍

Last piece of the puzzle and must have hardware for this project.

Radiator/fan time!

Four 240 mm radiators, four MasterFan SF240R ARGB and hinges with integrated water flow.

I've made the covers from mirror acrylic and my idea for the design is that they will look as foldable solar panels on the sides of the satellite.

20210122_080637.thumb.jpg.934ce0ff28eca92f1c355846d16ef89e.jpg

I did not have any black PLA available when printing so gray will be painted.

There we have it!

20210122_082849.thumb.jpg.ad079b2af981258bae4c611e77de0cf4.jpg

As with all of my other tubes I do them first with acrylic as it's easier and alot cheaper instead of messing with brass tubes directly.

20210122_085343.thumb.jpg.5bdb0d3404bfd64df9d6eae9c3de6933.jpg

All tubes will be brass/gold finish except the ones at the radiators. Here I will use blue as accent color and turn the attention even more towards electric power!

And yes, the combo is looking so damn good!
