Back to the case build!

The material is familiar to me aluminum 2 mm thick, light weight, ease of processing on the one hand and the complexity of welding on the other. The prototype was manufactured fairly quickly, although the cost of laser cutting the prototype was quite high. After completion, I sent the new drawings for cutting, where they rolled out the bill beyond the reasonable. I never received the requested cost calculation and had to look for another company for laser cutting. There is no silver lining - new parts were cut to me with higher quality, which practically did not need further processing, and even for a price almost 3 times less!! So people lose customers because of their greed…

The case allows you to use the native air cooling of the video card, but we are not looking for easy ways)

The top cover closes the wires from the periphery, but at the same time allows you to effectively remove warm air from the components.

But let's continue... The prototype played a role – in the subsequent drawings were redesigned for the convenience of welding parts. 2mm aluminum is quite thin and very heat-intensive, in some places it was necessary to attach an additional radiator so that the edges of the parts would not burn through during welding. I bent the blanks myself. A relative helped me with welding and, although it was the first experience of such work for him, he had already filled his hand for welding the final case)

To clean the welds, I used a milling cutter and a Dremel tool with 1-inch grinding nozzles - it turned out very neatly and the seams can only be seen at a certain angle.

Speaking of the tool: one of my favorites is the Makita RT0700CX2 milling cutter - if I had returned at the time of buying this milling cutter, retaining all my knowledge, I would have bought it again)

The case after painting with powder enamel.
Assembling components in it is not an easy task - compact dimensions always complicate the assembly.
PETG tubes Barrow 10x14mm and compression fittings Barrowch Wolverine series Anti shedding Fitting 14mm were used in the assembly.

The radiator is slightly shifted to the side to organize the wire tray. All wires are output to the lower rear part of the housing, under the radiator.

Bottom view.

There is a supply fan at the bottom for additional cooling of the video card's backplate, power supply and motherboard.
The rubber feet are fixed with m4 screws and protrude beyond the dimensions of the case by 2mm - they add the effect of levitation and protect the surface of the table.
