Another CMWS, another Project!

Happen to be, there are a lot of unused material.  So, decided to do another project.  ARGB Masterrace Project.  Thanks Cooler Master for all the helps and Sponsors.  Really Appreciate it.  I have been working on this project for weeks now.  The inspiration is coming from the famous arcade maze game from 1980; Pac-Man.  One just cannot forget this legendary games.

The progress of this project is quite fun and challenging.  The materials used in this project are cheap and easy to get.  The hardest part is to get ARGB LED which is quite hard to get in my area.

Specification

I am using Acrylic Sheet with ~3mm thickness for the main body.  The PC components will be mounted on this sheet

image.thumb.png.f55ba55b83bcc791c9abcbb41fcbb07f.png

For this thickness of acrylic sheet, it is hard for me to cut it using knife.  Bench saw all the way.

Done with the re-shaping of the sheets.

Before going further, need to re-estimate the placement of the component.  I am using ITX motherboard for this project to minimize the size.  Initial Plan is to use 2 SSD/HDD.  but later reduced to 1 SSD to make it more spacer between component.

Next step is to make mounting holes to mount the component.

Power Supply Placement

Somehow, I found PSU holder from an old All-in-One PC.

It fits nicely in this holder.  A few holes will be sufficient to mount this holder on the acrylic sheet

  • Chopperinoz changed the title to Pac-Man Got Swag

My personal preference to have motherboard mount plate instead of directly mount the motherboard onto the main sheet.  I am using 3mm acrylic sheet and cut it carefully by based on ITX board.    I am using ASUS H110i-Plus + Intel G4400 for this project

Same goes to SSD.  I am using OCZ SSD 128gb

Draft Look.  Looking good so far.  i don't have GPU Spare to use for modding, just depends on the onboard graphic G4400.

Need holes for the cables from power supply to the components.  Using a hole saw for this job.

the draft looks so far.

Before proceed further, the components need to be tested to ensure it can boot

Before start painting the main sheet, I've printed a few stickers so that LED can be seen through these covered area.

image.thumb.png.35ccfad08157bf66f5b1801e19ddf2f7.png

Painted the back side - white color

image.thumb.png.3b2a338d52ec7ee1954e037d780d3fa9.png

and black color at the front.  Removed the stickers once the paint dry

Done with the painting.  Next, is to get ARGB LED Strip.  The argb strips are hardly to be found near my place.  Therefore, I have decided to use LED Ring ( The one being used by streamer/make up Artist) to light up from the back of the sheets.  This LED is powered by USB.  Which is much convenient.

Bought an Ukulele Stand to place the main body of the project.  It fits nicely.  I've installed the components and placed them on the main board.  Next step is to create the props.

Props are made using black cupboard bought from stationary shop.  Easy to use as it can be cut using scissor/hobby knife.  Measured twice, cut once.  Did all the measurement thoroughly and cut it along the way.

Glue it together. and make it look like this (Below)  This inspiration is coming from arcade machine.  And it works to cover the cables at the back.

Continue to cut the cupboard to cover the cables at the front side

I ordered a few stickers to make it looks  more like an arcade machine

THANKS COOLER MASTER FOR SENDING ME A CK540 TKL MECHANICAL KEYBOARD

image.thumb.png.53f01cae2ebb81da4ee2d8b168ec89e9.png

So, I want to make this keyboard to have Pac-Man vibes

Thanks to the Thingiverse.com , I 3D Printed key caps using Yellow Filament.  Not gonna replace all key caps.  I want to make it dual tone.  I also 3D Printed "Pac-Man" Signboard and Yellow Ghost, and attached it to the keyboard.

Adding a few stickers of the ghost
