Gusts
Hello guys, this is my second participation in a Cooler Master Contest and this time I'll make a modification in a cooler. The idea is make a modification in a modest cooler, in this case I'll use the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 : It is a very simple cooler , but I belive is possible to transform in a amazing cooler . For this I'll use a recycle materials that I have in home, for example: - Acrylic Scraps - Original fan grills from Cooler Master CM690 I hope you enjoy the project development. Let's go !? Cheers, Gusts.
Gusts
Hello everybody I made the project on the sketchup, and the ideia is make a removable structure in the cooler using the acrylic and the fan grill. Let`s see: So I drew on the Corel Draw... What are you think about it ? Regards, Gusts.
frozensnail
Good sketch on how you idea for the cooler mod may or may not look. Sometimes less is more & I think it does look good, only suggestion I'd make is maybe incorporate a fan guard from the main body around the cooler. This would help with the air flow I reckon as, as it is it may not do too much on the performance of the cooler itself?
Gusts
Thanks frozensnail ! You are right about the air flow. I did some test here and without the fan guard I lost a lot of air flow. So I am thinking about a solution for this using the original fan, but I won't like to make a unique body. Maybe I'll use another way to fix de fan
frozensnail
It's very difficult without fan guard to obtain correct air flow, as you discovered. It would be a nice if you could carry on the cooler body design to enclose the fan, but like you said, maybe best solution to use a standard fan housing / guard
Gusts
frozensnail I though in a simple solution, but it will integrate the original fan with the main body . In the future posts I'll show the 2.0 version In that last weekend I cut the pieces: Making some test: Cut cut cut... I still need to finish the pieces Regards, Gusts. Gusts
Thanks Mooz! My idea is make the thinks every weekend and finish it as soon as possible. So, let's go to update... In the first step I cut the grills After I cut the acrylic pieces I improved some parts For join every pieces temporarily I used an acrylic glue and tapes Testing... Testing again... I began sanding the piece to remove and see the irregular points Like this: I used a plastic mass to solve this problem I needed to adjust the grill size Now is OK Testing again and again... I'll need to regulate the mass before paint I hope to paint in the next weekend. Regards, Gusts.
Gusts
Hello guys, this weekend I made the first step of paint. I began preparing the pieces to paint Painting... Sanding the plastic mass at the main part And the first paint Correcting the imperfections and sanding again... As was already Saturday night I decided paint on Sunday and make other important piece On sunny Sunday I painted the piece Fixing at the main body Isolating to paint the main part And painting again... I did some tests with the painted pieces As you can see I did some tests with the version 1.0, but I thought in a good solution to fix the fan at the main part. In the next update I'll show you Regards, Gusts
