C0LLARD Posted August 4, 2022 Author Posted August 4, 2022 Build up Hope: Radipumps module The Radipumps module is one of the trickiest pars to put in. It has to fit in the modified section of the case in a way that the inlet/outlet of the rads are also aligned with the holes in the case + Atlas top cover. Lets see if all those parts fits together: Hope's ready to receive the radipumps: Oh yeah! It fits perfecly! This is even better than expected!
C0LLARD Posted August 4, 2022 Author Posted August 4, 2022 Build up Hope: Tags Of course, the original Harrison Radiator nametag was restaured: Then, I (my wife) made an HOPE nametag: I also painted blue the EK badge because the original one was way to shinny:
C0LLARD Posted August 4, 2022 Author Posted August 4, 2022 Build up Hope: Atlas cover This Atlas cover was pretty easy to assemble. It's basicly tight fit to the case and it's so tight that there's almost no mouvments once in place. The only things I added after the paint was a soft black edge protector around the sharp edge of the cover and a RGB strip inside. This cover is dam nice!
C0LLARD Posted August 4, 2022 Author Posted August 4, 2022 (edited) There Hope's pictures I took those pictures under the CN bridge at Pont-Rouge. Temperture was not perfect but the result is pretty good: First part of Hope Lantern done! C0LLARD Posted August 7, 2022 Author Posted August 7, 2022 (edited) Spinning ring base The second section of the project is the part that light/hold/blow up Hope Lantern; the base To spin that base, I took the lazy suzan of my old broken patio table: and I gave him a second life: Edited August 7, 2022 by C0LLARD
C0LLARD Posted August 7, 2022 Author Posted August 7, 2022 Spinning ring base : center ring bracket This part is the base bracket that hold the second fan, the RGB ring and Hope Lantern. For the center, I took inner deflectors from the old Harrison radiator heater : Added some paint : And fixed them in the center of the bracket made with a modified/painted aluminium ring :
C0LLARD Posted August 7, 2022 Author Posted August 7, 2022 Spinning ring base : MasterFan This Cooler Master MasterFan 200mm ARGB is the perfect one : And I modified it : To fit on the spot : Then, put the center ring bracket on the spinning ring :
C0LLARD Posted August 8, 2022 Author Posted August 8, 2022 Spinning ring base : ARGB ring Hope Lantern will be illuminated via the base with this 12" selfie ARGB ring : I cut the white dome shape diffusor in half and painted it. I also cut an acrylic ring to protect the PCB. Then, I reshaped few plastic sections of the bottom pars of the ring : I also soldered the MasterFan ARGB wire direcly on the ring PCB and everything work good. The spinning base is almost done and looks pretty good now:
C0LLARD Posted August 8, 2022 Author Posted August 8, 2022 (edited) Spinning ring base : Filter For that purpose, I made a dust filter with this dollar store cooking mesh : That dust filter should do the work. I am not really satisfied with this black tape look around the mesh but I'll keep it that way for now. I also added edges protector: *Edit: I didn't like that mesh, so, I bought that 10" metal speaker grid: It is the right shape: Then, I did cut all around the frame to let it fit and stick with nanogel Now I am satisfied with that mesh: End edit* I also added this other mesh around to cover this opening between the ring base bracket and the LED ring: The base is now completed : Edited August 25, 2022 by C0LLARD Mesh edit
C0LLARD Posted August 9, 2022 Author Posted August 9, 2022 (edited) Lantern : Glass vase The third section of the build is the case itself and it is made of glass. This was the first time I worked with this material and I have to admit, I was really nervous... and I still am... The chosen vase was found second hand on FB marketplace. This is the thing: This glass vase needed 8 holes; 3 x 100mm for accessibility and air flow, 3 x 1/4" to hold the GPU/Mobo bracket, then 2 x 3/8" for the fittings. I filled the bath with water and slowly made those holes underwater: I also grinded all around where the holding ring will be: Wonderfull! Few dents but no crack: The holding ring is made of acrylic. Heavy duty epoxy was used to stick it to the vase. I used the same epoxy (then silicone after) to glue those fittings: Now, lets see if this glass globe fits well on that holding ring : Oh ! That fit like a charm! Edited November 8, 2022 by C0LLARD Txt
