Ok, so here's the update

This afternoon, went to a local hardware shop and bought.......what are these called in english?

IMG_0948.jpg

decided to stick them overlapped like this with hot glue

IMG_0949-1.jpg

done

IMG_0950-1.jpg

so, we are gonna leave this aside for now

this is the original position of the acrylic

IMG_0951.jpg

and this is the new position

IMG_0952.jpg

how bout this? I'll figure it out tomorrow.

IMG_0953.jpg

so I decided to make a center piece today

IMG_0954.jpg

3cm in width...dunno the length yet

IMG_0955.jpg

IMG_0956.jpg

there we go, 1 down, 3 to go

IMG_0958-1.jpg

IMG_0959-1.jpg

IMG_0967.jpg

em.bonus XD

IMG_0962-1.jpg

lol

IMG_0968.jpg

here is a piece of metal bezel with huge holes

IMG_0969.jpg

and a roll of aluminum bezel, with small holes

IMG_0970.jpg

on the big side

decided to cut it till it fits the middle hole

IMG_0971.jpg

first piece

IMG_0984-1.jpg

IMG_0985-1.jpg

next

IMG_0986-1.jpg

IMG_0987-1.jpg

aha, let's get the painting party started

from left to right grey( base ), matte black ( first/second coating), yellow ( final coating )

IMG_0988-1.jpg

base done

IMG_0989.jpg

second and first and second coat done

IMG_0990.jpg

I painted each coat in a 5-7 minutes interval

first and second coat complete

IMG_0801.jpg

as you can see, I'm sticking tapes on it to make patterns and when you see the results, it might be a little nasty as I wanna create a scuffed and old effect

IMG_0802.jpg

using the yellow paint

IMG_0803.jpg

done............now I have to wait for a long time......

IMG_0804.jpg

stay tuned guys, the final results will be up soon :D

Transmission complete......

Ugh..... Finally, updates :D

so here's one of the parts........

IMG_0811.jpg

A piece of cardboard

IMG_0812.jpg

make it 2

IMG_0813.jpg

decided to stick the long piece onto the base with tapes for now

IMG_0815.jpg

align the cards to the side

This may not be the most accurate measurement of all time but, trust me, it works

IMG_0816.jpg

sorry E4, it seems that I may need to use you first

IMG_0817.jpg

drew out the sketched side

IMG_0818.jpg

cut it

IMG_0819.jpg

IMG_0820.jpg

there's a hole !! O_O

IMG_0821.jpg

don't worry about a thing, the glue will do the rest

IMG_0822.jpg

IMG_0823.jpg

IMG_0824.jpg

stick it to the sides

IMG_0824.jpg

IMG_0825.jpg

but will it fit the long piece of acrylic

IMG_0826.jpg

IMG_0826.jpg

probably one of the hardest step......making them stick together in an angle

IMG_0827.jpg

IMG_0828.jpg

done

IMG_0829.jpg

new one

IMG_0830.jpg

IMG_0831.jpg

IMG_0832.jpg

sand it

IMG_0833.jpg

IMG_0834.jpg

IMG_0835.jpg

IMG_0836.jpg

had to put some weigh as the big piece kept tilting upwards

IMG_0837.jpg

IMG_0838.jpg

looks badass

IMG_0839.jpg

the other side

IMG_0841.jpg

IMG_0842.jpg

IMG_0843.jpg

IMG_0844.jpg

IMG_0845.jpg

IMG_0848.jpg

next side

IMG_0849.jpg

IMG_0850.jpg

an hour later.......I had to get some glue as the hot glue gum finished

IMG_0851.jpg

IMG_0853.jpg

time for some paint job

and again, the base ( interior )

IMG_0854.jpg

first coat ( matte black )

IMG_0855.jpg

IMG_0856.jpg

outer coat

IMG_0857.jpg

IMG_0858.jpg

done :D

IMG_0860.jpg

but how am I gonna fit both of them together??

IMG_0816-1.jpg

easy, cut 1/4 of the box on each of them

IMG_0817-1.jpg

IMG_0818-1.jpg

the saw!!!:devil-smi

IMG_0819-1.jpg

measure the back end

IMG_0820-1.jpg

roughly about 19.5 cm.........not the most accurate measurements but it will do

IMG_0821-1.jpg

9.6/7 cm on the box which is needed to be cut off

IMG_0822-1.jpg

mark it

IMG_0823-1.jpg

and cut it

IMG_0824-1.jpg

there we go

IMG_0825-1.jpg

same with the other side

IMG_0826-1.jpg

IMG_0827-1.jpg

:D

will it fit?? that's the last prob

IMG_0828-1.jpg

:P

IMG_0829-1.jpg

at least 10 minutes passed.....

IMG_0830-1.jpg

wow, looks great

IMG_0831-1.jpg

hmm...a hole in the pipes??

IMG_0833-1.jpg

cut those small pieces off and hope that they can fit

IMG_0834-1.jpg

IMG_0835-1.jpg

IMG_0836-1.jpg

lets glue it up

IMG_0840-1.jpg

IMG_0843-1.jpg

continued work...

IMG_0844-1.jpg

IMG_0845-1.jpg

IMG_0846-1.jpg

IMG_0848-1.jpg

sand the sides of the box

IMG_0849-1.jpg

IMG_0850-1.jpg

IMG_0852-1.jpg

IMG_0853-1.jpg

cut off excess glue drips

IMG_0851-1.jpg

and ready for painting

IMG_0854-1.jpg

IMG_0855-1.jpg

letting it dry up......

meanwhile......the pvc pipes are finally back :D

IMG_0856-1.jpg

a piece of unused acrylic

IMG_0857-1.jpg
